Frequently Asked Questions about Divorce Mediation

  • What is co-mediation?

In divorce mediation, there are two types of co-mediation. The first is where 2 mediators simultaneously mediate the issues to be discussed.  Often, this is done with a mediator of each gender.  The other is when a mediator who has a specific expertise (i.e. in financial matters or parenting) will handle the mediation for that particular area.  Co-mediation in divorce matters is not common, but is available to parties who seek it.
