Personal Statement:

As you can see from my qualifications above, I bring a unique combination of real world experience and top-notch education and training to the mediation environment.  My background includes years of problem solving which my clients find helpful in the mediation setting.

I decided to become a mediator because I genuinely want to help people move on with their lives.  Too many people get so caught up in their disputes and conflicts that it ends up consuming them.  Think back to a dispute or crisis you had 5 or 10 years ago and how all-consuming it was at the time, yet fairly inconsequential now.  I also never liked the impersonal service that large law firms give clients, which is why I structured my practice to be personalized and convenient to my clients.

I am a strong believer in the parties controlling their own destinies and to that end use a primarily facilitative mediation style.  The parties control the outcome while the mediator controls the process.  I also tend to keep the mediation process informal which keeps the parties relaxed, resulting in a more successful outcome.
